So, a couple of weeks ago I was contacted by the publishing company Head of Zeus, about a wonderful book they were publishing called The Little Library Christmas, by Kate Young. They sent me a copy and asked if I wouldn't mind baking some of the recipes; I received the book the other day, and I literally cannot wait to get started.

Flicking through the book, there are some recipes that are absolutely calling my name, such as the Cherry & Pecan Brownies, or the Almond and Pistachio Biscotti... She even has some festive drinks recipes, like the Gin & Thyme Martini that I'm particularly looking forward to sharing with my mum.

One of my favourite things about this book though, is the concept. Most of the recipes in here are inspired by books, like the Turkish delight recipe, inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; honestly, as a book lover, baker, and Christmas Enthusiast, this book ticks all the boxes! Kate even has a recipe for an entire Christmas Dinner in there! Not only that, but there is an array of recipes to use up leftovers (if you have any).

Some of you reading this may be thinking, Christmas? Already? But honestly, this is my favourite time of year, and it's never to early to be planning your Christmas Menu!

As much as I love Christmas, I can't ignore my love for Autumn too; and I simply must do a shout out for this amazing Fig, Honey & Rosemary Cake I made last week. A soft brown sugar cake, flavoured with rosemary, baked on top of honey soaked figs, then flipped and filled with whipped cream & mascarpone and some fresh figs; this was the perfect way to kick off October.

If you want to follow my baking journey as I bake my way through The Little Library Christmas, follow me on Instagram @hannahlilly_baker, or if you want to check out some more of Kate Young's stuff you can find her @bakingfiction. Hope you all have a cosy Autumn!
