Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
3.
Boil some water in a heavy bottom pan.
4.
Place the jars you would like to sterilise on an oven tray, make sure they are not touching.
5.
When the oven is hot enough and the water is boiling, place the tray with your jars on in the oven.
6.
Using a pair of tongs, carefully place the lids of the jars into the pan of boiling water.
7.
Set a timer for ten minutes.
8.
Carefully remove the tray of jars from the oven and place on a heatproof surface.
9.
Using the tongs carefully take the lids out of the boiling water, and place on a clean tea towel to dry.
10.
Let everything cool.
11.
Your jars are now ready for your jams and chutneys.
